Jake never thought that working with troubled teens would become one of his greatest passions. He graduated from Utah Valley University with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and Music with High Distinction from the Center for Advancement of Leadership in 2012. He began working at Discovery Ranch during his last semester part-time and fell in love with the program. Making a difference in the lives of others is what Jake loves to do most. He changed from the medical school and becoming a doctor to working with troubled adolescents and has loved every minute of it. Jake has a long history as the go-to guy here at the ranch. He has spent time as our Music/Tech Center director, organizing and directing the triennial Parent Days Program, taking pictures, on-boarding new parents, and served on the research team. Jake now serves as the admissions coordinator and enjoys spending time getting to know the families interested in learning more about how the Ranch can help with their son. Music has been a huge part of his life. He started singing and playing the piano as a young child and has now been teaching music on the side since 2003 in his own music studio. Jake loves traveling the world, baking incredible desserts, spending time with his niece and nephews and eating good food!
