Lexi Monroe, LPC
Therapist
Lexi’s interest in counseling began when she realized her passion for helping others cope with emotional pain. That compassion fueled a desire to work in the mental health field as a therapist. In her many years’ experience, working with adolescents has been the most rewarding aspect and she enjoys continuing that work at Discovery Ranch.
Her previous work includes facilitating treatment to adolescents in several different settings such as an outpatient treatment center, a secure lock-down facility and an acute inpatient hospital. Although her career work encompasses a myriad of therapeutic issues, her specialty is abuse and trauma treatment. Other areas of experience are treating issues of attachment, adoption, identity and substance abuse. She is an LPC and LSAC trained.
She cherishes the opportunity to impact others and views therapy as an exchange of energy. One of her objectives in therapy is to assist clients in “sitting” with their pain and learning how to manage their emotional distress. Lexi, the daughter of a large animal veterinarian, knows firsthand the value of equine therapy and relation-based treatment with animals and appreciates being a part of Discovery Ranch’s unique environment. She enjoys tennis, skiing, and backpacking, all of which she shares with people close to her.
